Meet the team: Julia, Theresa and Tonya are dressmakers, sewing enthusiasts and friends. Theresa has extensive bridal experience and also enjoys creating Ballroom and Latin dance outfits. Tonya brings many years of invaluable creative design and tailoring experience; she loves vintage clothing and collecting vintage Vogue patterns.
Here's Julia's story:
In 1953 my mother, aged 13, wore a rather beautiful May Queen gown handmade by two seamstress Aunts. It started a lifetime's love of sewing for my mother, making first her own clothes, and then mine. I grew up watching her sew and learning from her. Today I have this gown in my workshop as inspiration, and although sadly my dearest mum is no longer with us, I know she'd be proud that I continue my dressmaking career. My joy is seeing children (and parents!) delight in our handiwork.
